The art and music of skateboarding is what won my heart and soul as a grommet back in the 80's and that is what will keep it alive for me no matter how much my bones ache. Getting this chance to hear Richie's perspective was really great, the art and joy of just taking that "Useless Wooden Toy" and turning it into something a little scary, a little dangerous, and letting that be the conduit for your will is something special. Every skater is an artist if they have the courage to accept themselves, whether you're ollieing up a curb or kicking down the street or spinning on top of a fire hydrant (Remember seeing Natas do that for the first time and realizing that there are no limits?)
Richie truly takes "the world is my canvas" to a whole other level through skateboarding. I just discovered this video and am amazed how this guy takes an artistic approach by utilizing both the skateboard and anything else around him to create his own unique style of skating. This video has taken my appreciation for skateboarding to a much deeper level when I didn't think skating could be done in such a creative way until now.
Itd be funny if richie answered the door wearing an all roca wear outfit and a diamond encrusted watch. "Oh wait- i wasnt expecting anyone. 👀 Let me go change into my costume- i mean uniform. No 👉 Outfit! Its an outfit.. yeahh.. HELL yeah!!" 😬🤘

Why are some ppl even hating on this guy? He‘s creative as fuck and it‘s super entertaining to watch his moves. Imo what he‘s doing is the spirit of skateboarding - not giving a fuck and just making your moves. Keep it up brother ❤
The best thing. Two intelligent and gifted people that have the ability to look at them self’s and their art from a distance. To take their craft very seriously and deflate it and the rules at the same time. That’s skate and life.
"If you feel safe in the area you’re working in, you’re not working in the right area. Always go a little further into the water than you feel you’re capable of being in. Go a little bit out of your depth. And when you don’t feel that your feet are quite touching the bottom, you’re just about in the right place to do something exciting.” - David Bowie
There is no way that someone could dislike or make a negative comment on any of richies style tricks/ video parts , or just him in general and be an actual skateboarder. This dude embodies all that is creative in skateboarding.
When Richie talks about the late 90's when skateboarding was still underground, it reminds me of this one time when a bunch of college guys pulled up to a skate spot me and a friend were skating. They got out to jump us (we were 16), and another skater's cousin just happened to be driving by and saw what was about to go down. He just happened to be a gang banger, and he whipped his car in and pulled up between the Frat guys and us, then pulled out a gun and pointd it right in the Frat guy's face, and said, " do we have a problem?" Those guys were back in their Jeep and gone in about 4 seconds. It's funny to see another side of life where you realize the popular/ conventional people aren't good guys, and you find nobility in "criminals".

Richie seems to be such a nice person! And he inherits the true spirit of skateboarding - do whatever you like
Creativity and fun, that is what it’s all about
Why are some ppl even hating on this guy? He‘s creative as fuck and it‘s super entertaining to watch his moves. Imo what he‘s doing is the spirit of skateboarding - not giving a fuck and just making your moves. Keep it up brother ❤
I love you Richie, don’t listen to the haters
The best thing. Two intelligent and gifted people that have the ability to look at them self’s and their art from a distance. To take their craft very seriously and deflate it and the rules at the same time. That’s skate and life.
absolutely love Madars. Redbull, you stuck gold with this guy as I am sure you are well aware.
You may be a Master Ball Kicker ...but you'll never be a Richie Jackson's Filmer ....
There is no way that someone could dislike or make a negative comment on any of richies style tricks/ video parts , or just him in general and be an actual skateboarder. This dude embodies all that is creative in skateboarding.
Richie Jackson is a god damned wizard.
I love Richie so much, he keeps skateboarding fun, creative and interesting. Nobody is doing what he is doing
Wonderful interview, Richie Jackson is a diamond!!
We could learn so much from Richie. I love his perspective on life in general.
You mean what? His racist replacement theories? Check yourself.
I'm from Brazil and Richie Jackson is my favorite skater, style, creativity for me is fanstastic
He has been my favorite skater for years
I've learned over the years it's not about how good you are, it's about doing what you love. Skating is a life style, not a label.
This video has far too much of "THE MOST HUMBLE MILLIONAIRE" vibes to it for me. Whole video feels self indulgent.
@@makingadjustments TRUE (I'm just jealous)
When Richie talks about the late 90's when skateboarding was still underground, it reminds me of this one time when a bunch of college guys pulled up to a skate spot me and a friend were skating. They got out to jump us (we were 16), and another skater's cousin just happened to be driving by and saw what was about to go down. He just happened to be a gang banger, and he whipped his car in and pulled up between the Frat guys and us, then pulled out a gun and pointd it right in the Frat guy's face, and said, " do we have a problem?"
Those guys were back in their Jeep and gone in about 4 seconds.
It's funny to see another side of life where you realize the popular/ conventional people aren't good guys, and you find nobility in "criminals".
I think Richie and Andy Anderson are literally transforming skateboarding as we know it.
skateboarding is always entertaining, but theres different ways to express creativity. and seeing this reminds me that humanity has hope
Rodney wasn't shunned for inventing the kickflip. Wut?
